Pulitzer Prize winning novelist who captured prairie life of the Old West in written page. She poked a stick at conventional gender roles in her some of her earlier work and was one of America's most documented drag-kings at the turn of the 20th century. Her conservative political views clashed with many within her literary circles and led her to a later life of reclusion.
