Harris Glenn Milstead was the most notorious of the John Waters Dreamlander circus. Divine transformed the art of female impersonation into modern drag. He was overweight, overindulgent and over-the-top. His role in Pink Flamingos scarred the collective conscience of underground film afficionados around the world. His legendary Provincetown antics include auctioning off his landlady's furniture, crashing cars and sawing down the pine tree in the front yard of a local cop so he could have his own tannenbaum.
