Charles Darwin didn't see this one coming. While the New York and LA underground was exploding, things were heating up in the heartland of America. The midwaste community of Cleveland may be where Alan Freed fired the first salvo across the starboard bow of culture but it was in the City of Akron that the theory of devolution was hatched. DEVO may be best remembered for Whip It but that isn't fair. They have left behind a genius catalog that we dare you to explore. Mark would later become one of the great music composers of television, film and video games.
