ROOT BOY SLIM (1945 – 1993)

Foster Mackenzie III was a prep school boy who attended Yale and was actually tossed from a frat house performance by none other than George Bush Jr. With utter disdain for authority, he soon dropped out of society to drive his own ice cream truck around the Washington, DC area. After ingesting LSD, he hopped the White House fence in search of the center of the universe only to find himself hospitalized with a schizophrenic diagnosis.

Upon release he adopted the name Root Boy Slim and ceremoniously dubbed his musical ensemble The Sex Change Band. They were all rage of the DC music scene for the run of Root Boy’s career with his American pub rock repertoire but stutter-stepped everytime they seemed destined for greater things. He was a great satirist and soothsayer of modern politics.
