Walter William Liggett's Twin City investigative journalism career ended on the wrong end of a gun. His pending expose on the connection between the Minneapolis underworld and Minnesota Governor Floyd B. Olson wasn't meant to be. Marda Woodbury, the young daughter who witnessed the execution along with her mother, will later immortalize the event in her 1995 book Stopping the Presses: The Murder of Walter W.
