For generations, the Norwood Historical Society has safeguarded the people, places, photographs, documents, and artifacts that tell the story of Norwood. Housed in the historic F. Holland Day House, the Society has preserved not only one of America's most remarkable homes, but also the legacy of the photographer, publisher, and cultural visionary who continues to inspire the SONO project.
Many of the discoveries featured throughout SONO began with research, collections, and historical work made possible by the Norwood Historical Society. Their mission is to preserve Norwood's history. Ours is to explore where that history leads. Together these complementary efforts reveal how a remarkable New England community became connected to artists, writers, photographers, publishers, printers, musicians, and ideas that reached far beyond its borders.
