Ray Nolin - Sock Monkeys & Watermelon

This is Ray Nolin's Sock Monkeys & Watermelon.

Hensche became assistant instructor to Hawthorne and was instrumental in taking Hawthorne’s approach “mudheads” a step further to the “color block studies,” which are effective in developing the painter’s basic visual ability. From 1932-1935 he taught with no name to his school but in the summer of 1935 he began using the name The Cape Cod School of Art and taught ‘en plein air’ in the Hawthorne tradition.   - Julie Heller
